October 2024 Newsletter

Cam’s Corner
No. 4  October 2024

Happy October from Cam’s Corner! The leaves are changing, and cooler temperatures are here! Perfect time to cozy up with some wool.

We’ve been busy since our last newsletter. The last week in September we vended at Hancock Shaker Village. It was a long ride out, but the grounds were gorgeous and well worth the trip. We partnered up with our resident needle felter, Talia Lefton. There were a slew of other vendors with all sorts of crafts, food and demonstrations. The weather was perfect all weekend and the crowd seemed to enjoy themselves. Being our first time there, we weren’t sure exactly what to expect but found the atmosphere to be relaxing and enjoyable. As I’ve mentioned previously, doing shows is an immense amount of work and energy. It took us two days to recover - being on the road from 6:30 am, vending all day and not returning home until 6:30 pm will definitely wear you out!

After the show we embarked on inventory. We planned on being closed one week but after the show, but we had to put the shop back together somewhat so we could then move everything to do the inventory. As usual, the entire process took us a lot longer than we anticipated so we truly appreciate your patience while we did this.

Last week, we went to Dorr Mills and purchased seven (7) new bolts of wool. We got some beautiful pink and lavender herringbones, along with a couple grays, a striped red/cranberry, a yellow ticking and a couple other colors. We also ordered three (3) bolts from the Wool Studio. Stop in and see the new colors along with the vintage wools we picked up this summer. We think you’ll really like them.

We still hope to do pinecone classes this fall. We’ve gotten in a half dozen rugs for repair which has slowed down kit prep considerably. Keep an eye on the web site for class dates. We are hoping to do two weekends in November and two in December. We plan to do one class on one Friday night both months with classes on both Saturday mornings and afternoons. Due to the considerable about of time it takes to prepare the kits, they will only be available for class this year.

We have combined our “Wool of the Week” with our crazy Friday sale so be sure to check our email on Friday mornings. You never know what will be there.

We hope to see you at the shop soon. Til next month
